Lynn Schuette

Lynn is a venerable San Diego visual artist whose work includes paintings, drawings, prints and mixed media works.  Schuette often explores the human body - referencing a range of historical artworks from classical figurative to anatomical works – and the natural environment.  Her work is also informed by American writers from Willa Cather to contemporaries including Joyce Carol Oates and Cormac McCarthy.  A leading art writer says, “to view Schuette’s work is to witness the wedding of Francis Bacon and Georgia O'Keefe into a completely original vision.  Her largest public work, an extraordinary and ethereal mural entitled the color of this life is water, greets millions of visitors every year at the San Diego Convention Center.
